Pine Lake

I must begin here by giving a big THANKS to my family who so willingly accomodated my boys' love for the outdoors. Were I planning a vacation for myself, if would include alot of quiet, indoor time. But that is not what they love! So thankfully, my family planned and carried out many wonderful outdoor adventures that were the highlight of our summer!

One of those adventures.... well, actually, two... were fishing trips to Pine Lake. Zach is the fisherman in our family. He not only enjoys it, but he is PERSISTENT. The first trip there, he spent the whole afternoon out in the hot sun, fishing away, without a single catch. In fact, his Uncle Carlon stayed with him till sundown, long after many had left, hoping he would catch something. But he didn't. And that was part of the reason we planned a second trip.

Parker doesn't love fishing nearly as much. So he just had fun playing with his cousins, chasing chipmunks, taking pictures, and eating lots of s'mores.

Zach's patience paid off on his second trip to the lake.

While the older boys were out fishing, Grandpa & Grandma cooked up some yummy dutch over potatoes and chicken. And the kids roasted hot dogs and s'mores.
We did save some for the fishermen!
