Though we are certain that spring is just around the corner, we've had many days where indoor activities were much more appealing that the wind and cold outside. These are just a few.

An hours entertainment, for less than $2.00.
With a bag of mini marshmellows and a box of toothpicks, the boys tested their engineering skills, building bridges, buildings and other structures.
It was great fun!

OK -- Aiden didn't do much building.
But he did a lot of taste testing!

It's still too cold for camping outside ... but not for camping in the living room! Garrett set up the tent, then set up the TV facing the entrance. The boys picked a movie, climbed into the tent, then drank milkshakes and watched the movie. What a great way to spend a Sunday evening!

Last weekend was absolutely gorgeous. It was bright and sunny, nearly 70 degrees. It gave me the gardening bug! So we went shopping at the nursery. We got 2 new apple trees, 2 pear trees, 3 raspberry bushes, 2 blackberry bushes, seeds and starting material for a dozen different garden plants, and starts for a dozen strawberry plants.
You're right ..... I got totally carried away!!!
We got the raspberries and blackberries planted right away. But we had to dig out other bushes and make a nice planter for them, so it was a full day's work.
The rest would have to wait for another day.
And then the weather turned cold again --
below freezing at night;
snow during a few days;
LOTS of wind --
so nothing else got planted.
I am so anxious to get it all going that I decided to get everything started indoors. So Aiden and I had an indoor gardening day.
It was a blast!!! He was so excited to be able to play in the dirt, right at the kitchen table. We planted and played for over an hour. Then I filled up the kitchen sink with dish water, pulled up a chair, gave him some bowls and spoons, and let him play (clean himself) for another half hour. He was SO excited to think I would let him play in this sink full of 'BUBBLES'.
What a great morning!
Mornings like this make me smile.
Isn't motherhood GREAT!!!

Parker has a bazillion LEGOs. And there is rarely a day that he does not build some new creation with them.
He loves to build a creation following the direction
ONE TIME.
Then he can't wait to take it apart
and make his own inventions.
Here are a few from this week.
It's a 'space and flight' theme right now.
