Pine Lake

What's better than camping and fishing?

Depends on who you ask!

Zach probably can't think of many things better.

I, however, think most things are better.

But this trip to Pine Lake was great fun!

The boys all stuck it through ...

pitching the tents and spending the night in the great outdoors.

Us girls got to enjoy a beautiful afternoon  and evening below the pine trees, perfectly roasted hot dogs & marshmallows, delicious dutch oven chicken & potatoes, a fun visit with family and friends, and then...

a nice soft, comfortable bed back at the house.

Can't beat that!

 Aleah thought pitching a tent and playing outside was the BEST!!!

She kept running back and forth between the tent and the fire pit, climbing into the camping chairs, and hunting for pinecones with Aiden.

 While a few of us stayed behind to visit and indulge in camping food,

most of the boys (and a few girls) headed for the lake.

 

It was a very successful trip!

 

 Who says girls can't fish?

Because this one can!

Ian knows the trick to catching fish....

Aiden's an early bird.

Good thing he brought along some entertainment to keep him occupied while everyone else got going.

Is that marshmallows you're cooking for breakfast???

 Why, yes it is!

(Good thing mom's not here!)

 

 

 

 I don't think Aiden loved fishing quite as much as Zach does.

But he gave it a try.

 

 

 

 Who needs a fishing pole when you're fast enough to catch them with bare hands???
 (Just kidding!)
