Memory Lane

So, I've been taking a 'walk down memory lane' looking through our digital photo album. And it's bittersweet! I love to see the growth and change in my kids, but it also makes me sad that they are growing up so fast. And that I have 'aged' so much as well. :(

Where did the time go already???

Although I know Iowa is the right place for our family right now, I really miss our Vegas friends and family. We really did love it there and have wonderful memories. Truly we were blessed to end up in the house we had there. It put us in the most wonderful neighborhood and ward, with such great people!

(We miss you! And all of our fun get togethers! ....
Eat a Nevada Day cookie for me next week too!)

Funny, I really hadn't thought much about it .... but this is the second time we have been guided to purchase a house in an area that we were not originally interested in. Our Vegas house was not within our search parameters at all (we were really only looking in Green Valley), but our realtor thought we would like it and took us there anyway. We immediately fell in love with it and knew it was the one we wanted.

Our house here in Iowa was also not in the area we were looking at. We specifically told our realtor we didn't want to be in the Waukee School District. We put offers on 3 other houses ... one in Urbandale, one in Clive, and one in West Des Moines ... before ending up in this house. We felt it must have been divine intervention, because we ended up in a great neighborhood, with the most wonderful neighbors, and a great ward. We also ended up in the Waukee School District, which we absolutely love! Who would have known?!?!
Anyway, back to memory lane ....
Something else nearly brought tears to my eyes.

I MISS MY KITCHEN !!!

And though it was nothing fancy, I really loved our fenced in yard, covered patio with an 'in-ground' sandbox, swimming pool, hill for the boys to climb on and dig in, and the beautiful rose bushes. But NOT the palm trees!! (I can't find any great yard pictures, but this brings back the memories.)

Oh well. Back to the here and now. I can't complain (except about the kitchen). All is well and we're happy & healthy! We're having the most beautiful Fall weather. And rarely do we find ourselves with a dull moment. (If I do, I pick up a book and enjoy it immensely!)

Hope all of you are doing well too!!!!
