BAH HUMBUG!!!
That's what I say to Halloween!!! It's a costly commercial holiday that doesn't really celebrate anything. It's just a way to separate parents from their hard earned cash. And right before Christmas; the REAL holiday that you DO need the money for.
So with four kids now, do the mental math ....
Four costumes
School class parties (donations please)
Neighborhood party (bring food)
Ward party (bring food)
TRUNK-or-treat (a few hundred treats to hand out)
Trick-or-treat (a few hundred MORE treats to hand out)
Think that's it??? WRONG!!!
Now you either have to pay up big time to your kids to get some of the candy back from them. Or you just let them eat it all and pay up for the dentist bill afterwards.
Which one do you do? We buy the candy.

Can you say 'expensive'?!?! And all for what??? Really! What are we celebrating? I just don't get it.
O.K. Now that I've had my little Halloween rant, I'll just get over it and let my kids have a grand time over the next three days of partying!

I agree with ya her! thankfully a few parents and teachers feel the same way and at school this year in the elem. they're having a school wide party where a few parents and teachers have provided activities, but no costumes, or treats please. Yes I like this.
