Obsessed with the weather

Can you tell what this is???

It's the ice, frozen on the INSIDE of our window.

I know alot of my posts mention (or are all about)

the WEATHER. So I'll admit ....

Right now, I'm a little obsessed with it.

Probably because it's driving me CRAZY!!!

Don't get me wrong.

There's nothing wrong with a white Christmas.

But in the last month, school has been cancelled

three times. This is our THIRD week of

'blizzard like conditions' in FOUR weeks!

(School is cancelled again today and there is a
Winter Storm Warning in effect.
Current temperature is 6 degrees, with a windchill WAY below 0.
Tomorrow's high is expected to be NEGATIVE 3 degrees.)

So I keep asking myself, "Why do we live in Iowa?"

In hopes that I can benefit from positive thinking,

I'm creating a list of things I love about winter here.

1. I keep low mileage on my car because I don't dare drive anywhere.

2. My shopping expenses are much less because
I don't go shopping when the temperature is below 0 degrees.

3. I get to have my kids home more often because of
weather related school cancellations.

4. My house stays cleaner because
I'm not tempted to leave it and go work out in the yard.

5. I get to indulge in hot chocolate and baked goods
(though I really shouldn't).

6. I love homemade bread and soup,
which is wonderful on a cold day.
(That's pretty much every day for 5 months here!)

7. I get much more time to read while we're all snowed in.

8. My appreciation for the other three seasons grows immensely!

9. My love of vibrant COLORS grows.
(White and brown, sprinkled with barely visible Christmas lights
that are too frozen to take down, is getting old.
I love GREEN! And it's sorely lacking here right now.)

10. It gives me something to BLOG about.

Though I'm sure you can see now how wonderful winter is,

I'm still hoping for an early spring.

Only 2-3 more months to go!!!
