Jan. 10th - and the sun is shining!

I love Iowa for many reasons. It's such a great, family-friendly, conservative place to live and raise kids. Spring and fall are beautiful! And summer's not too bad.
But when winter rolls around, I constantly find myself questioning if it's really worth living in such a snowy, icy, bitter cold place.
But this year is different. We had just a few days of snow in December. Not too much; just enough for Aiden to do a little sledding before it all melted. And since fall, the weather has been wonderful! In fact, during the past week we've had temperatures in the 50's and even 60's. Yesterday the kids were playing outside and loving it!
The younger kids played in the sandbox. The older kids played street hockey. It's been like this for a week! Wonderful!!!!

I know we've still got a few months to go before winter's over. And those bitter cold temperatures are probably just around the corner. But the prospect of facing only 3 months of cold versus the typical 4+ is quite appealing! I'll enjoy every day of sunshine and moderate temperatures (above freezing is great!) we get.

Hope you're enjoying your winter too!!!
