Summer is here!

One of the final school projects in 4th grade is called 'Hall of Fame'. Each student chooses a famous person they would like to research and present information about. Parker choose J. K. Rowling. For his presentation, he wanted to dress up like Ron Weasley. I crocheted him a Gryffindor scarf and we tried to dye his hair red.

The hair dye didn't work very well. It just turned a nice strawberry blond. But regardless, he looked great and did a fabulous job on his presentation.

Parker also got the honor of carrying the U. S. flag in the Memorial Day flag ceremony.
After the ceremony, the boys enjoyed a yummy outdoor breakfast and a fun game of baseball.

A new summertime favorite is watching an outdoor movie.
Garrett got a projector, hooked up surround sound and a big sheet for the screen, then invited all the neighborhood kids to enjoy 'Despicable Me' from our backyard lawn.
It was FANTASTIC!!!! Definitely doing this again!

All the kids have enjoyed the warmer weather and lots of outdoor playtime.
Aiden is such a responsible driver that we now trust him to drive Aleah around in his Jeep (Yes, I know is says 'Silverado' on the hood, which would lead you to believe it is a Chevy. But for some reason, it has always been called 'the Jeep'.)

And the best way to kick off the start of summer is with WATER!
Garrett set up the 100 ft. water slide by the side of our house and let the boys get wet. Of course, the neighbor kids joined in too. It was a fun start to a hot season.

Parker helped Aiden get it figured out.

Aleah wanted to try it, but was only permitted to watch. (Mean mom!) She did, however, get to play in the water running down the slide. Brrrr! It was cold!
