Aleah is 1 Yr. Old

We celebrated Aleah's birthday last week. Had she been the first child, I'm sure we would have had a huge party and lots of presents. But since she's the fourth, it was a quiet, simple affair with just immediate family and some brightly frosted cupcakes.

This was her first 'junk food' and she wasn't all that impressed.

She preferred eating the wrapping paper over the cupcakes.

So, here's the update for our 1 yr. old:

* She's super fast in her walker (watch your toes, cause she'll run you over), but not walking on her own.

* She always heads straight for things she's not supposed to get into (i.e., plants, wall hangings, outlet covers, cords & cables, TP roll if the bathroom door gets left open).

* When I tell her something is a 'no no', she tells me right back, "nuh nuh".

* She loves playing with Aiden during the day. In fact, 'Aiden' is one of her favorite words to say.

* Other things she tries to say are: outside, eat, banana ('nana'), all done, night night, thank you, and love you.

* She waves for 'hi', 'bye', and 'goodnight'.

* She has a hearty, happy laugh.

* She already had her two bottom teeth, but just cut her two top teeth. Two more are also on their way.

* She loves to play 'peek-a-boo', read books, watch Baby Einstein and go outside.

* Her favorite food is fruit, especially bananas. But she also loves strawberries, grapes, and cantaloupe.

* She doesn't like loud noises, ear infections, sitting still, and vegetables (helping prove her dad's theory that a distaste for vegetables is hereditary).

* She is outspoken! She has no trouble being heard above 3 older brothers.

We ADORE her!!!
