Pinewood Derby

Pinewood Derby time is always so fun!
Both Zach and Parker designed their own cars.
Then Garrett helped them get the cars ready.

Zach chose a Lego design for his car.
It turned out great!

He places the car on the track.
Then moves to the end of the track for
a close-up view as the cars cross the finish line.
-
Yes!! That little red blur in the left hand lane is Zach's.
And it won this round!
(Zach is the tall one kneeling in the center.)
-
He's happy with how well he is doing.
At the end of the night, his car took second
place in the Webelos group.
-
Zach and Parker show off their fancy cars.

Parker is not quite old enough to participate
in Cub Scouts yet. But he designed and built
a car anyway. It was lots of fun, and he got to
race it down the track a few times after the races
were finished. He'll definitely be ready for the race next year.

Looks like fun! Why don't girls ever get to build cars and race them? 2 years ago we did a ward activity with potatoes and decorated, carved and raced them. (Everyone had fun doing that)Oh and thanks for the recipes! I'm going to try them out!
